Services

You know how people worry about their copy
and wonder if it is clear, correct, and ready to publish?

I solve this problem.

You can choose the appropriate review service with the most value so that you know your copy is guaranteed good to go without breaking your budget.

You can choose from various levels of editing and proofing for book, website, or print material drafts to help you express your content in the most appropriate presentation possible. For smaller projects, you may request single-item services. If you aren’t sure what service you need, you can sign up for coaching for either writing or business development — or both. Moreover, you can be sure you are getting the service and value you want because I guarantee the results: my feedback, polishing, proofing, editing, redrafting, consulting, and/or coaching will satisfy your expectations. AND, I further guarantee to always respect your copyright and your privacy.

Services at EverydayEditing

Use the contact form to sign up for editing, redrafting, or proofreading, to apply for coaching, or just to ask a question. All services are available electronically in several formats; hardcopy reviews are available at an additional cost.

You get a marked up copy of your draft, a report of my recommendations, and/or other work products as mutually agreed. All feedback is provided in the format and within our agreed upon timeframe, as specified in our service agreement.

Standard service options are described below from the fastest, surface reviews to the slower, more thorough content and planning evaluations:

Single Item Feedback:

If you’ve drafted copy for a website or giveaway “freebie” and need additional ideas, suggestions for improvement, or evaluation of its potential effectiveness for your audience, this super quick turnaround review can give you ideas for your final product. This review does NOT include editing or rewording suggestions. I evaluate:

•    audience appropriateness
•    clarity of content
•    formatting possibilities
•    feedback on specific questions

Most Single Item Feedback can be completed in one calendar day.

This is the fastest, least costly feedback value on the worldwide web – and my results are guaranteed.

Single Item Polishing:

If you’ve already drafted, honed, and proofed your copy for a landing page, other single website page, or giveaway “freebie” but know that a final review and polish are always essential for the best result, you can opt for this quick turnaround editing service. Though polishing is generally for content already sufficiently reviewed to be in its final draft stage, about to go to press, upload to the Internet, or otherwise distribute to your readers, you may request special focus on a specific problem area. Editing or rewording suggestions are included as suggestion comments, or inline redrafting is also available (see link). Choose this final check of your single item copy for:

•    editing or rewording suggestions for clarity and audience appropriateness
•    basic proofing
•    basic formatting
•    suggestions for specific problem requests

Most Single Item Polishing can be completed in 2 to 3 calendar days.

This is the best polishing value on the worldwide web – and my results are guaranteed. As a special bonus, if I find NO errors, you’ll get a 20% reduction in the fee.

Speed Proofreading:

If you’ve already polished your draft copy and only need a final review of multi-page and/or multi-item copy, you can opt for this super quick turnaround with my speed proofing service. For content already sufficiently reviewed to be in its final draft stage, about to go to press, upload to the Internet, or otherwise distribute to your readers, choose this express final check of your copy for:

•    misspellings
•    improper punctuation
•    formatting issues
•    typos

Most Speed Proofing can be completed in less than 5 calendar days.

This is the best proofing value on the worldwide web – and my results are guaranteed. As a special bonus, if I find NO errors, you’ll get a 10% reduction in the fee.

Standard Proofreading:

You’ll find this basic proofing service is perfect for copy that has been peer reviewed, gone through a writers’ group workshop, or been honed and redrafted until it says exactly what you intend. If you’re satisfied your material is ready for one last detailed proofing overview, choose the more thorough proofing review at this level to check your copy for:

•    spelling mistakes
•    punctuation problems
•    capitalization errors
•    awkward grammar
•    verb tense issues
•    subject – verb agreement
•    style inconsistencies
•    formatting irregularities
•    typos

This is the most cost effective and efficient proofing service you’ll find online – and my results are guaranteed. As a special bonus, if I find NO errors, you’ll get a 5% reduction in the fee.

Light Editing:

Once you’re satisfied that your material is reader-ready, this editing service will help you clear up any problems that might interfere with understanding as well as ensure that you are aware of any recurring grammar, spelling, and other basic proofing errors that need correction. Because content may change after this type of edit, typos and detailed proofing are not included, though I may point out specific errors during my review. This review specifically points out problems with:

•    sentence structure (run-ons, fragments)
•    transitions and flow
•    paragraphing and overall document structure
•    consistency and clarity of style, tone, concepts
•    recurring basic proofing issues
•    NO rewording suggestions

Substantive Editing:

This is the most comprehensive multi-part review of your manuscript both as a whole and in detail. In the first overall review, you’ll get questions and suggestions to make the content not just more readable and understandable but also more consistent and better flowing. The first of this two-part of the review focuses on style, tone, and structure as well as on content. Specific errors or recurring grammar, punctuation, or other issues of understandability and clarity will be pointed out for correction. Because you may choose to change content after this type of edit, typos and detailed proofing will be completed in the second pass review after you have made the first level changes. This review is very broad including but not limited to:

•    manuscript structure
•    relevance of style and tone to target audience and document purpose
•    clarity of content and sense
•    consistency and clarity of style, tone, concepts
•    paragraph and overall document flow
•    transitions
•    sentence structure (run-ons, fragments)
•    appropriate word choice (considering clarity, connotation, repetition)
•    redundancies of content
•    inconsistencies in the plot or narration
•    believability of characters or situations
•    consultation and collaboration to get you on target for your audience and product
•    specific suggestions for rewording, rearranging, or improving the copy (but this is not inline redrafting)

This is the most reasonably priced comprehensive editing service you’ll find online – and your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Redrafting:

Once you’re fully satisfied that your content is complete but you are still not satisfied it is reader-ready, this redrafting service will help you clear up any problems that might interfere with understanding as well as ensure that your flow is smooth, your purpose is effectively met, and your draft is ready to format into its publication-ready form. Because changes may still occur as you choose to accept or revise the recommended redrafted copy and during the formatting process, final proofing is included during the second review. This revision process includes inline editing to insert, delete, rearrange, or suggest specific changes to:

•    revise overall document structure
•    improve paragraphing and sentence structure
•    refine transitions and flow
•    ensure consistency and clarity of style, tone, concepts
•    reword for understanding
•    correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting

This is the most detailed, functional, and yet affordable service  you’ll find online – and your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Developmental Consulting:

While you are first planning your manuscript or after you’ve cleaned up your rough draft but before you have polished it to perfection, this comprehensive review of your manuscript as a whole can save you from working on copy that just isn’t going to work out well. In this overall review, you’ll get questions and suggestions to make the content not just more readable and understandable but also more consistent and better flowing. This kind of preliminary review focuses on style, tone, and structure as well as on content, but it does not include actual editing or redrafting of the copy. Because content is likely to change after this type of review, typos and detailed proofing are not included, though I may point out specific errors or recurring issues during my review. This review is very broad including but not limited to:

•    manuscript structure
•    relevance of style and tone to target audience and document purpose
•    clarity of content and sense
•    consistency and clarity of style, tone, concepts
•    paragraph and overall document flow
•    transitions
•    sentence structure (run-ons, fragments)
•    appropriate word choice (considering clarity, connotation, repetition)
•    redundancies of content
•    inconsistencies in the plot or narration
•    believability of characters or situations
•    consultation and collaboration to get you on target for your audience and product
