Not only do I guarantee your proofed copy will be error-free and/or my editing results will fully satisfy you, I guarantee I’ll respect your copyright.

This is what my Satisfaction GUARANTEE means:

I guarantee that your copy will be error-free after my proofing review, and I guarantee that after my editing review of your draft, you will be satisfied that my notes for suggested changes and/or corrections are comprehensive and complete.

If you are not satisfied that I have provided that level of service to you, please contact me using the contact form to describe any problems or just to ask a question. To claim a guarantee payment after work has been signed off as complete, please include the following documentation:

Proofing:

If you find any errors in reviewed material after I have proofed your copy, send me the link to the error (for online materials) or a scan of the error (for printed material) and I will refund to you $25 for the first error and $5 for each additional error. These refunds cover the bulleted items in your proofing category. These refunds are in addition to the % fee reduction for copy in which I found no errors.

Guarantee payments will be issued to you within 2 business days of your notice to me.

Editing:

If you are not satisfied that I have completely and correctly reviewed your draft material for the bulleted items in your editing category, send to me a list of your concerns, and I will re-review those issues and provide to you any additional suggestions, corrections, or guidance appropriate to your concern. If you are still not satisfied, I will refund to you 20% of your fee.

Guarantee payments will be issued to you within 10 business days of your refund request to me.

Copyright:

Your copyright is explained in the next section and in the referenced links. If you suspect I have in any way violated your copyright, send me notice of your concerns and any proof you think implicates me. If after investigation I cannot refute that I published any content you created without express written consent from you, I will refund 100% of your payment to me.

Guarantee payments will be issued to you within 30 business days of your notice  to me.

 

Your Copyright

I respect your copyright and guarantee to honor it. I will never publish any content you created without express written consent from you; this consent may be obtained electronically (ie by email, text message, or other non-hardcopy method). If I ever violate your copyright, I will refund 100% of your payments to me.

You, the creator of the work, are automatically the copyright owner. You do not have to register, mail a copy, use a copyright © symbol, or do anything special to assert your copyright for your draft or finished work.

Your copyright lasts for your lifetime plus 70 years after your death. You can assign your copyright as a work for hire, but that generally isn’t wise because you lose control of your work. Copyright of  “work made for hire” endures for the shorter of 95 years from publication or 120 years from creation.

Copyright is internationally recognized under the Berne Convention. 166 countries as well as the Holy See recognize the Berne Convention; the United States adopted the agreement in 1989. Using the copyright symbol © in your work is optional, but its use ensures that readers everywhere are aware that your material is copyrighted, which can help prevent unintended misuse.
